| In this second episode about the tour of the Hazzard Square into the Warner Bros. Studios we analyze what the map below is identified with the number 32.
| | To be more precise, this is a very famous building in Hazzard because it's the headquarters of the County Police. Often this building has seen come in handcuffs our beloved Duke cousins, but it also saw escape them in fine flight from Rosco, Enos and Cletus! In the two pictures below you can see how the building had been personalized during the shooting with a sign above the entrance and the three most frequent visitors of this place (Boss Hogg, Rosco and Enos).
| | In the image below, we can see one more time Boss Hogg, Rosco and Enos in front of the building. In the other picture, we can see what is presented in front of the building, which is the famous gazebo in the middle of the square and the church located on the opposite side of the square. As you can see, then, the square had a low fence to confine it.
| | This building, like the rest of the "Midwest Street" set into the Warner Bros Studios, has also been used in other movies and TV series. A few years ago it became famous for becoming the school of Stars Hollow in the TV series "Gilmore Girls". Later, it was used in the series "Pretty Little Liars" like building of the City Hall.
| | Here you can see another view of the same building in the two configurations used in "Gilmore Girls" and "Pretty Little Liars". As you can see, the differences are quite minimal, right in the signs placed above the entrance.
| | In 2009 this building was used for another TV series, "Eastwick", but it had not a very great success (only one season) and then was canceled. In this series, however, the building was used as a Town Hall. From the second photo below, you can see that in this configuration, the gazebo in the center of the square had been removed to make way for a fountain.
| | Going further back in time, precisely in 1941, it may notice that the building was used in the movie "Meet John Doe" as the Town Hall of the city of Millville. As usual, the structure was almost identical, changing the usual sign above the entrance.
| | It was also used in the early 70s on "The Jimmy Stewart Show" as you can see from the first picture. In the second image, however, you can always see the same building used in the movie "The Music Man" (1962). Also in this case it was employed as the City Hall.
| | Below, however, you can see a comparison between the building as it appeared in 1962 in "The Music Man" and in a more recent picture during a break from filming of movies and TV series.
| | To quote another film in which this building appeared, we can speak of "Monster Squad", where although with darker environments and adding some aesthetic item (the clock on the roof, for example) can be seen that it is always the same building.
| | Many people make the mistake of linking this building to other famous movies or TV series: it often happens that someone refers to this building as the college where John Boy in "The Waltons" goes to study. This is clearly a mistake since the building to which it refers is the one shown below (top-left as it appeared in the series "Jimmy Stewart Show" and at the bottom as it appeared in the movie "The Music Man"), similar but quite different in form and structure. The building no longer exists as it was shot down during the filming of "Batman Forever." However, this building was not in the set "Midwest Street" (the one used by Hazzard, but was located where today stands the set "Park Place" (shown top right).
| | Here it's how I found this building during my tour in L.A. in April 2009.
| | Below, however, I am in the picture sat on the steps of the building. Needless to say I was very happy: seeing in 1st person a place that has accompanied my childhood, I was filled with joy!
| | Finally, a 3D air picture from Google Maps where you can see the location of the building relative to the rest of the square.
| | See you next week with some other interesting building of our Hazzard!
