| In this third episode about the tour of the Hazzard Square into the Warner Bros. Studios we analyze what the map below is identified with the number 33.
| | To be more precise, this is another very famous building in Hazzard because it's the courthouse of the County. Often this building often saw enter, because of some legal trouble, our beloved cousins Duke, but it also always seen them leaving with no criminal record! In the two pictures below you can see how the building had been personalized with a sign above the entrance and some very recognizable cars parked in front of it (the General Lee, the Cadillac of Boss Hogg and Rosco's car service).
| | In the image below, we can see the police cars parked in front of the building.
| | In the following images you can see that the Courthouse was located next to the Police Station. The first two pictures show the building during some moments of break from recording of the episodes, while in the third picture you can see Rosco parked right in front of the insignia "POLICE" located between the Courthouse and the Police Station.
| | This building, like the rest of the "Midwest Street" set into the Warner Bros Studios, has also been used in other movies and TV series. A few years ago it became famous (only in the very first episodes) for becoming the school of Stars Hollow in the TV series "Gilmore Girls". Later, it was used in the series "Pretty Little Liars" as the Rosewood High School. As you can see between the two versions below shows, there is a small difference...
| | That's right, in the series "Pretty Little Liars" the building was slightly modified by removing the arch on the facade, in front of the staircase. In this image you can see more in detail such change.
| | It must be said that this change was also made to another TV series, "Eastwick", where in this case the building was used as high school.
| | However, this type of change is not the first time it appears on the front of this building. The arc present in Hazzard, in fact, has not always been there as we have ever seen. In 1955, in fact, this building was used for the filming of "Rebel Without a Cause" where it's used as Police Station. In some scenes you can see it in the configuration without the arc. Even today, the building is in this configuration: I can not tell if the arc sooner or later will come back in its place.
| | Here it's how I found this building during my tour in L.A. in April 2009.
| | And here, again during my visit to the Warner Bros. Studios, a view the two buildings (the Courthouse and the Police Station).
| | Finally, a 3D air picture from Google Maps where you can see the location of the building relative to the rest of the square. As you can see in this picture the arc is not present outside the entrance.
| | See you in September with some other interesting building of our Hazzard!
