The Black Beauty in 1:18 scale!

Finally, at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2015 has appeared the new 1:18 release produced by AutoArt. As you can see, it's the Black Beauty from the movie/TV Series "The Green Hornet". Observing the pictures, I think it's not the final version but a pre-serie prototype, but in the next months we can find it on our preferred diecast shops! We just have to wait!
P.S.: Here you can find the link to the AutoArt site: https://www.autoartuk.com/autoart-black-beauty-the-green-hornet-1-18

My second signed General Lee!

Finally, after one month, I received the General Lee signed by Byron Cherry, the actor who played the role of Coy Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard". This time the autograph is personalized and there is my name on the trunk! Moreover, in the package there is also an additional pictures signed by Mr.Cherry! In the next days I will create a complete photoalbum for this new diecast model, but in the meantime I organized a little meeting with my other signed General Lee. I love them!

Columbo and Home Improvement

These are hectic weeks! Besides working on the Ford Mustang "Lucifer" used in the 1968 Hazzard (of which tomorrow I'll post a bit 'of photos), I put in the pipeline some other model to be changed: the Peugeot 403 used by Lieutenant Colombo and Chevy Nomad used by Tim Taylor in the TV series "Home Improvement"! The Peugeot will be painted gray (as well as the soft top), while the Nomad will be completely repainted in red (even the roof) and also will replace the rims and tires (which you can see in the third picture). As you can see there is also a Hemi engine superdettagliato that surely will end in the engine compartment of some General Lee! See you tomorrow!

Ford Mustang Lucifer: Episode 2

As I told you yesterday, today I show you the progress I'm making on the 1968 Ford Mustang "Lucifer" . Work continues, a little slow, perhaps because I'm a bit rusty, but there is also to say that dismantling and removing paint this Mustang was more complicated than expected. The paint was very strong and I had to give 3 coats of gel paint stripper and many details (lights, bumper, mirror, etc.) were firmly glued to the body. I therefore had to be very careful to avoid breaking them! Monday I will start to define with plasticard the side grips and the center tap of the bonnet, then, I will still a fine sandpaper and then you will go to the paint in matte black. See you next week!

A "like" that makes my day!

Last week, after receiving the General Lee autographed by Byron Cherry, I published a photo on my Facebook profile to thank Mr.Cherry. Of course I added the tag photo the names of the other actors in the series to which they are connected through Facebook and in addition to receiving a message from Byron, I received notification that John Schneider liked my photo! It been a great pleasure: a little sign, however, that I was filled with happiness! It 's true that, in addition to being talented actors, because I'm wonderful people, accustomed to having a good relationship with their fans! Yeee Haaaw!

New purchases of February

These days I made some new purchase: of course at the present time these models are in the truck of some carrier, but I'll try to add a lot of pics when they will come in my miniature garage! In this order, I have included some models old and new that I had not yet added to my collection, but the rest was just a matter of time! In detail, I bought the Dodge Challenger of "NCIS", the 1968 Ford Galaxy of "Men in Black 3", the Chevrolet Impala Sport Sedan of "Supernatural" (all produced by Greenlight), the Cadillac Fleetwood "The Godfather" (produced by Jada Toys), the Dodge Charger of "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry" (produced by Auto World) and the Dodge Charger of "The Fast & The Furious" (produced by Mattel). But purchases do not stop there ... soon with other arrivals!

Ford Mustang Lucifer: Episode 3

Last night I was able to work a little bit on the 1968 Ford Mustang "Lucifer": I started working on the side air intakes as those series were not going well, because they were not like those mounted on the car used in "The Dukes of Hazzard." I used to carry them out of the plastic sheets, duly cut and shaped, then I have applied to the body. Today, after waiting a whole day for the glue to dry, I shall pass the sandpaper to remove any glue residue and to smooth the edges of the air intakes. Then, if I find the inspiration, I will start to create the air intake to attach the hood. Good view of the photos!

Ford Mustang Lucifer: Episode 4

In recent days I worked on the Mustang Lucifer: I made with plastic sheets the hump to be placed on the hood and after it is shaped and sanded, I proceeded to stick permanently to the hood. At that point, I was ready to go to the paint, so I gave it two coats of flat black paint to the body, to the front, the bonnet and the two doors. Today also will paint the trunk and the back that I could not paint in recent days because I had to wait for the new wing plastic is attacked well to metal parts. I then did a quick test assembly with the chassis, but I have yet to replace the wheels with new ones that I did arrive from Spain.
See you Monday with more news: for now have a nice weekend and enjoy the pics!

Tomorrow, February 14, I will go to visit the exhibition of cars and motorcycles at the "Automotoretrò" in Turin. If any of you will go there, it will be a good opportunity to meet and know each other, perhaps to see up close some of our favorite replica used in movies or TV series. However, next week I will publish a lot of pics from this event!

Automotoretrò 2015

As I told you last week, Saturday I visited the fair Automotoretrò at Lingotto in Turin. There were thousands of cars and motorcycles, all brands and all types. Of course they could not miss even the car-themed film / television here then KITT, Christine, the General Lee, Herbie, the DeLorean DMC, the Ferrari 308 Magnum, the Dodge Charger of "Fast & Furious" and the Ferrari Testarossa Miami Vice (not white, but red). So here's a little gallery of pics for those who could not go directly to this event! Have fun!

Ford Mustang Lucifer: Episode 5

Finally I managed to "close" the Mustang Lucifer! Inside the car I placed a chrome roll bar and I replaced the original wheels with those of the Shelby GT 500 that I bought from Spain. I know, are not perfectly identical to those mounted on the real machine, but they are the ones that are closest. Also, I put all the details outside the body (mirror, windshield wipers, door handles, chrome, etc.), and I added the original plate "CK 8229". Now, when I have the inspiration, will paint flames on the front of the body and then I will apply a sticker on the doors round with the number "13". To see this, however, you'll have to wait a few more days, I must first find the right color and, as I said, the inspiration ... and courage! Enjoy the photos now!

If any of you want to start collecting cars or is looking for some rare pieces related to the TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard", can try to buy this beautiful lot that I found on the site "Subito.it". Unfortunately, the models are not sold separately but only in batch. If you still want to give him an eye, click on the images below to view the announcement.

Autotrader helps Dukes to find a new car!

Ok, not really new, since it is an advertisement of last year, but I think I deserve a post on this site ... and more! What I'm talking about? I'm talking about the advertising of Autotrader starring the Duke cousins aboard their trusty General Lee. Time has passed, and the weight of years is felt, especially when the police cars, the latest Dodge Charger, far exceed the speed of the old but still legendary General Lee. E for this reason that Bo and Luke decide to upgrade, looking for a new car using the application for phones and tablets of Autotrader. After various adventures, they finally get to the nearest dealership Autotrader where waiting for them there is the new heir to the General Lee, an SRT Viper 2013 colored orange and the mythical numbers "01" on the doors!

Of course I did not want this event (the reunion of the two cousins Duke) remained only in a video, so I decided to recreate replicas of the cars used in this advertisement. I then bought a red Viper SRT-2013 produced by Maisto and a Dodge Charger Hemi brown 2006 produced by Welly: will be completely disassembled and repainted (car Dodge Charger will also of course added a flashing police on the roof that I bought from the USA ). Stay tuned because then it will be one of my next work in progress here on the site!

New purchases of February - Part 2

Ok, I promise ... this is the last purchase in February: all these new diecast will be modified to create some special vehicles used in movies and TV series of the 70/80 ... Now I can say I have a lot of work for the next few months! The only problem is that I have to add a little 'of shelves at my cabinets! So ... my next trip will be at IKEA ... !! Returning to the model, I bought the Volkswagen Combi T1 produced by Solid (which will be converted into the van used by the family Bradford), the Chevrolet 1946 pickup truck produced by Solid (which will be converted in the van used by Pat Morita in the "Karate Kid"), two Ford Convertible 1948 produced by Fairfield Mint (which will be converted in the car used in "Back to the Future" and "Karate Kid"), the pink Cadillac Fleetwood produced by MRC Edison (which will remain the car owned by Elvies Presley) and three Austin Mini 1967 produced by Solid (which will be converted into 3 Mini used in the original film "The Italian Job"). We read again next week, spend a good weekend !!

USA 2013: Location Asbury Park (Bruce Springsteen)

After some weeks, today I want to show you another part of my trip in the US in search of famous location: this time, it is not about locations used in the film or TV series, but location became famous from the musical point of view. I must admit, in fact, that I'm a great fan of Bruce Springsteen and his music and having to go in the New Jersey, in April 2013 I have also planned a stop in Asbury Park and Long Branch, the cities that gave Springsteen birth and grow musically. Among the various locations, we find: the Carousel, the Casino, the Empress Hotel, the Boardwalk, the Convention Hall, the Paramount Theatre, the Stone Pony, the booth of Madame Marie, the Stone Pony, the Wonder Bar, the remains of the Palace Amusement, the house inhabited by Bruce when he wrote "Born to Run".
Besides being famous for Springsteen, Asbury Park is famous because they have shot some film or TV series, including "The Soprano" and "The Wrestler", so... we can connect this town to the cinema industry! Enjoy the pictures!

Watch Out, We're Mad

During the last days I have been contacted by an old user of this site, alex_cj7. In addition to being a skilled builder of model cars in 1:18 scale, alex is also a skilled builder of dioramas. In his last message, he submitted me this wonderful diorama about the movie "Watch Out, We're Mad" with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer. Who does not remember the legendary red Dune Buggy with yellow hood? Here it is, perfectly reproduced in 1:18 scale along with the racing Ford Escort used in competition by Bud. Of course, to top it all, there is the buildings of Ben's Garage and figurines of Bud and Terence. Now I just have to refer you to the Alexander's site, where you can see many other dioramas.

Charger "Cale Yarborough" - Episode 1

Waiting to find the right inspiration to complete the flames on the Mustang "Lucifer", I started working on the 1968 white Dodge Charger that will replicate the car used by Cale Yarborough in the episode 7 of the second season of "The Dukes of Hazzard." It was so that I wanted to achieve it, but I never found the time ... Now it was time to add it to my collection! Of course I used as a base another General Lee: I proceeded to dismantle it completely and with the usual gel paint stripper, I completely removed the orange paint and after giving even a very light sandpaper, I proceeded to paint all with two hands white paint. The result is really great: bright color and no imperfection. In the next days I will continue painting the interior with mat black, then I will focus on the engine, which is the important part of this model. Enjoy the photos!

Another sad day...

A short message to make a tribute to Leonard Nimoy, the great Mr.Spock in the TV series "Star Trek". He was not an actor involved in movies or TV series with famous cars, but for those of my generation he was always a myth!
Rest in Peace and Live Long and Prosper!
