Batmobile by Funko

As promised, today I will show you the last purchase at the Torino Comics exhibition: the Batmobile from the 60s TV series produced by Funko. Again, as for the Ecto-1, the car model is really done very well: I believe that among the 3 in my possession, is the most beautiful! The character of Batman is well made and as for the "Ghostbusters" series I'm waiting for the arrival even the character of Robin, just to complete the collection. In the next days I will buy a new showcase only to expose the whole series of Pop by Funko in my possession (car and characters). As soon as I find the right model, I will set up it and I will show you how it looks inside of my room!

1959 Corvette C1 from "Animal House"

I had never considered the Chevrolet Corvette C1 used in the movie "Animal House": I found it beautiful, but I always wanted to give priority to other diecast cars. Now that I think I have bought most of the cars that I wanted, I decided to fill this gap, putting myself in search of this famous Corvette C1. I must admit that on eBay there are several diecast cars of this model, but like every time I make a new purchase, I have documented a lot on the real car used in the movie and I discovered yet another mistake... the Corvette used in the film is the model produced in 1959, while that sold by ERTL/Joyride is the model produced in 1961, very different, especially in the back where the shapes and lights are completely different. Another existing recycling of a model in production lines and adapted by applying a personalized license plate and the logos "Animal House" on the box. At this point, therefore, I discarded the ERTL/Joyride option and tried to found the right model of the year and I finally found the model produced by AutoArt that faithfully reproduces the model used in the movie. Logical that, in addition to reproduce the correct car, the detail level is very high, such as from AutoArt tradition. The model is now on the road and I will show it to you as soon as possible when it will arrive to my home.

Street Hawk: a new paint!

The work on "Street Hawk" proceed: last night I disassembled the new chassis and the bodywork after having passed it with fine sandpaper and then I plastered the previous holes for the screws on the left side. At that point, I was ready to switch everything to painting process: I have given 3 coats of flat black paint and tomorrow should be completely dry, ready for a new assembly test. Then I'll have to find a silver marker to remake the side details and one gold marker for the 2 wheels. I hope that for now the result will satisfy you! See you soon with some other update!

Vector W8 TwinTurbo by Ricko - "Rising Sun"

Lately I am always looking for particular cars, both from an aesthetic point of view, both from the point of view of the rarity. After sweating seven shirts to find the famous 1959 Chevrolet Corvette (of which I spoke a few days ago) used in the movie "Animal House" (I have found 4 on eBay, but I have 3 sellers then denied the purchase saying that the model was not available or was damaged), so I stumbled into a model that I had already seen some time ago and that had always struck me for its very special sporting lines: I'm talking about the Vector W8 Twin Turbo, the car used in the movie "Rising Sun", a model produced some years ago by Ricko. It should immediately be said that this car you love it or you hate it: I definitely belong to the first category, but I still think that is a crazy car, both for the appearance at times exaggerated, and for some engineering decisions that have did it forefront car during the first 90 years, when it was produced and sold on the American market. So the only solution is to put it in my collection, which definitely stand out alongside other emblazoned sporting cars of the same period (I refer especially to Ferrari and Lamborghini). As usual, have to wait the courier ... in the meantime I will see to ask to produce other shrines to my provider to accommodate all my new purchases!

Movieland & Gardaland 2016

Next Monday, the place where I work will be closed for holiday, so just to take a break, I decided to spend with some friends a "two-day" on Garda Lake to visit 2 theme parks on Lazise, Gardaland (I will visit it Monday ) and Movieland (I will visit it Sunday). I must admit that I can not wait: it is since 2008 that I do not visit them and therefore are quite amused! Why did I choose these two parks? Gardaland, nothing to say, we all know it and its reputation precedes it. Movieland, however, snubbed by many, really worth a visit, especially now that has been modernized with many new attractions, a new Main Street in New York style and a new live show set in a reconstruction of San Francisco. Since I visited last time it changed a lot (at least looking at the images of the site) and not wait to be able to revisit again, doing all those charged-up attractions driven by real stuntmen who eight years ago had made me so much fun! Of course, a journey completed, I'll post a lot of photos and my story about what we saw in these two theme parks. If anyone has had the same idea, we can meet there and have fun together!

Ferrari Enzo by Hot Wheels Elite - "Redline"

It is that a few months ago, finding no interesting cars used in movies and TV series, I'm trying to fill some gaps that I had in my collection: in particular, in recent months I have bought several Ferrari I've always considered beautiful (Testarossa, 365 GT4 BB, 308 GT4, 348, 355, 288 GTO, Mondial 8) that I wanted to support others already in my possession (F40, 308 GTS, Daytona, etc.) after which I got to the point of wanting to buy some more modern, like LaFerrari, car I found amazing since it was presented. I started looking on eBay and when I found the right one I bought it (she is traveling back home), but at that point I had to fill the gap that divided it to the F40: so I started looking also the F50 and the Enzo, although both I never considered very good or satisfying to the eye. Yesterday the Enzo (in the version produced by Hot Wheel for the Elite series) has finally arrived at home and I have to admit that in the hands the model looks nice, especially in the top view, giving it a solid, muscular appearance. I did not take the version of the movie "Charlie's Angels" because in the movie was only used for a few seconds, so I preferred to take the Elite version in a limited release and, in my garage in miniature, I will definitely associate it to the 2007 movie "Redline" where instead plays a very important role for the whole course of the film. Just enough weather will be better, I'll definitely shoot a lot of pics, so to photograph every little detail. Have a nice weekend!

Gardaland 2016

And I am here again, after the wonderful weekend spent on Garda Lake. As I told you, Sunday I visited "Movieland" and Monday "Gardaland". Unfortunately, Sunday, during one of the rounds of KITT Superjet in "Movieland", my iPhone was slightly wet and stopped working: nothing serious, so much that in the evening had already restarted to work, but I nevertheless sent in assistance to make a general inspection, to avoid future problems. In the coming days, as soon as the phone back in my hands, I shall also publish photographs taken in "Movieland". So, for now, you will have to settle for photos taken on Monday to "Gardaland." I could not take pictures of everything, because I tried to enjoy as I could the day in the park, sometimes forgetting to take pictures! As I said a few days ago, "Gardaland" is not a surprise: after all, we are talking about the #1 theme park in Italy and really deserves to be visited. If you plan a visit to "Gardaland", however, try to do it in a weekday, as I did, otherwise you'll have to make endless queues and spend much of the day waiting in line for your turn, wasting a lot of time! Other than that, I recommend everyone to visit it, you will not regret!

Ferrari F50 & LaFerrari

Waiting to get back my repaired iPhone, in order to recover the pictures made at "Movieland", today I want to show you the last two Ferrari became part of my garage in miniature: the F50 and LaFerrari produced by Hot Wheels for the series "Elite". I've never loved the first one very much, but it could not miss in my collection of toughest Ferrari that I decided to purchase in recent months, but I consider the second one a masterpiece of style and although they belong to the modern Ferrari, it has always struck me despite its decidedly more aggressive lines than the softer lines of the Ferrari produced during the 80s that I have always loved when I was young. In the coming days, if the weather permits, I will try to do a lot of pics to each model, show them also in groups: they'll surely more scene together!

Vector W8 TwinTurbo by Ricko - "Rising Sun"

Fortunately, the weekend just past delighted us with beautiful sunshine, so I took the opportunity to do some pics to the new models that will show you from time to time during the next few days. Today is the turn of the beautiful Vector W8 produced by Ricko. As I had pointed out when I bought it, I selected red to replicate the car used in the movie "Rising Sun". The model is made really well: in addition to the vertical opening doors, it also opens the engine compartment and the trunk, positioned under the rear spoiler. Also, something I particularly like my last purchases, is the fact of having even the retractable headlights, operated via a lever positioned under the chassis. The painting is really excellent, the details are very accurate and well-groomed: only comment perhaps on the engine, where they could give a less plasticky effect adding some details (wires, less chrome, etc.) To conclude, therefore, the model is really well realized and given that no other company has ever attempted to reproduce this car, I would say that the Ricko version remains the only choice: today, unfortunately, is a fairly rare model to find, but with some luck, if you like it as I adore it, you can find a very good example for a good price. Surely I will propose also a comparison with the Lamborghini Countach LP5000S of Kyosho, the model that best approaches for performance and lines decidedly angular and muscular. Now enjoy the pictures: have a good fun!

The Persuaders

Yesterday I got to know a new user of this site, Moreno: we exchanged a few emails and in his speech he talked about the cars used in the TV series "The Persuaders", ie the yellow Aston Martin DBS (driven by Roger Moore) and the orange Ferrari Dino 246 GT (driven by Tony Curtis). At that point, I realized I did not have either of those cars in my collection, so I immediately ran for cover: I found cheaply from Germany a yellow Ferrari Dino produced by Anson (which will be stripped and painted with the correct color) and an Aston Martin DBS with the exact color produced by GT Spirit. I want to thanks Moreno: excellent reporting, I'll return the favour!

Movieland 2016

As I told you last week, during the visit to "Movieland" my iPhone was slightly wet during a 180° on KITT Superjet: after doing repair, now the phone is in my hands, but I could not recover all the pictures: I lost all those carried out along Main Street (this year completely modernized with the addition of many new buildings on the right side) and those carried out on the set of Overdrive (I have saved just two!). However, I managed to save those with the General Lee, the DeLorean from "Back to the Future" and the "Robocop" police car as those taken during the performance of "Rambo" and together with some characters of the park. It's a shame because I would have liked to show you the park, after all new works of modernization, has changed quite a lot and this is well worth a visit! Council: equip yourself with a waterproof case for your phones or cameras ... even though I had a waterproof waxed, I was unable to save the phone and believe me, the water at Movieland it takes a lot! Have fun with the pictures!

Street Hawk: assembled!

While waiting to receive at home the last purchases, I am continuing to work on "Street Hawk". Yesterday I finally fixed the two parts of the body to the frame and I must admit that the result satisfies me a lot! In the coming days I will define all the silver details both on the motorcycle body, both on the pilot suit. After that I will apply the stickers on the top of the tank and also I will complete the front headlight that, thanks to the slide that I created internally, can be placed both in the open and closed position. The road to complete it will not be short (because I can not devote too much time after work), but I hope to show it finished as soon as possible! Now I leave you to the pictures!

Ferrari LaFerrari by Hot Wheels Elite

New week, new purchase to show you: this is the wonderful Ferrari LaFerrari produced by Hot Wheels for the "Elite" series. Unfortunately, at the moment, I can not connect it to any movie since it has never been used for this purpose, but it is so beautiful that I could not put it in my collection. The model I have to say that is made very well: the painting is of excellent quality and level of detail inside and out is very high. I must admit that I can not find a flaw! Now enjoy the pictures of this fabulous LaFerrari and in the coming days I will also show you other supersport Ferrari I bought over the past weeks. Enjoy with the pictures!
