Holidays finished!!

Unfortunately, my holidays are finished!!! I spent about 2 weeks visiting Dolomiti Mountains (8 days in Colfosco and 4 days in Ortisei) but now, I'm very relaxed and happy to be here with you... In the next days I will show you a lot of news about the incredible world in 1/18th!!

Another DMCL's Charger in 1/24th

As announced before my holidays, today I would like to show you the last job executed by Darold, a faithful visitor of my site: the Dodge Charger used in the movie "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry". Like the previous 1/64th diecast model he has created, also this 1/24th diecast model is very detailed: good paint work and perfect customization on the wheels.
   Good job Darold!!

Byron Cherry and the new Roberto's Traveller

In this period, I'm trying to complete my collection of hand signed pictures. In particular, I love to collect the autographs of the actors who played main characters into the TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard": unfortunately, Byron cherry (Coy Duke) and Christopher Mayer (Vance Duke) are still missing in my collection, so yesterday I wrote a message on CGLFC board and thanks to John Staton, I got the oppurtunity to contact directly Byron Cherry. I wrote him an email and after few minutes, I received an answer from him and we started a quick repartee to decide the details about the hand signed picture. After this, I can only say Byron is a nice, amusing and kind guy. Besides to be a good actor, he is also a good man: it's not easy to find a helpful actor like him. It was a pleasure for me "talk" with Mr.Cherry and I hope, one day, to meet him in a Duke's event.

Moreover, during my holiday I received a lot of pictures from the visitors of this site and day by day, I will show them. Today I would like to show you the last job executed by Roberto: he is a great "The Dukes of Hazzard" & "Collier & Co." fan, so he realized a great diecast replica of the Traveller owned by Erik Dimitriou. On the external, it looks like mine, but on the internal he has done a great work: he has detailed the carpet with grunge, he has covered the steering wheel with insulating tape and he has created 2 little covers for the front seats. Congratulations Roberto!!!

Other hand signed puictures!

Waiting to come to an understanding with Mr.Cherry (during this weekend he has partecipated to the Duke's event "Homecoming #2" as Coy Duke), today I would like to show the other hand signed pictures I have in my collection. In this case, the famous actors are: John Schneider (Bo Duke), Ben Jones (Cooter), Burt Reynolds (The Bandit), Adam west (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin), Ron Howard (Richie Cunningam) and Henry Winkler (the Fonz).
When I will receive the hand signed picture from Mr.Cherry I will update this gallery. Enjoy with the pictures!!!

Piston Cup @ Lonato del Garda

Yesterday, I received some pictures from Ighi72, a faithful user of this site: on these pictures there are a lot of cars photographed during the "Piston Cup" meeting performed at Lonato del Garda... so, you can look up Dodge Charger, Pontiac Trans Am, Ford Mustang, Ford Gran Torino, etc.
Thanks for the pictures Ighi72 and congratulations for the good shoots!!

300000!

Another great goal for Hollywood Wheels: the site celebrates 300000 visits. This number means that every day this site has an average of 546 visits. I would like to thank you all the people that periodically visit this site but also the users that every day send me info, pictures and any kind of materials about this awesome hobby!!
Moreover, stay tuned because in the future days I will publish some new pictures about the Chargers used in "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" and in "Collier & Co."

Another improvements on the Traveller

For me, the diecast models I create are never finished: every time, I try to increase the details to improve the final output. This time, for example, I stole the idea used by Roberto and I made the same modify on my Traveller #1: I coated the stearing wheel with insulating tape and now it looks like more similar to the real one used in the movie "Collier & Co."
Coming soon I will work on the chassis to improve the rear part: I will execute the same modify I applied on the Lee1.

Knight Rider 2008 in 1/18th

The new "Knight Rider" series premier will be September 24, 2008 on NBC: considering the good results obtained by the first pilot broadcasted the February 17, 2008 I think it will be a new success for all the "Knight Rider" fans. Moreover, this month Shelby Collectibles will release its last 1/18th diecast model, a black Shelby Mustang GT500 KR, similar to the car used to realize KITT in "Normal Mode".
However, this model hasn't the official "Knight Rider" license but we hope that with the success of the series some diecast producer will catch the bargain... We need only to wait!!

DMCL's Charger with a black carpet

During the last weekend, I worked on the Charger used in "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry": in particular, I worked on the internal chassis, covering all the floor with a pasty black velvet, to simulate the real internal carpet. To complete the passenger compartment, I will try to create the internal CB transmitter then I will consider it finished. Stay tuned!!

Drive a virtual General Lee!

In this period I'm playing on my PS2 with "The Dukes of Hazzard - Return of the General Lee": I bought it from eBay for 4 euros and I can say that fans of the series will enjoy very much this title!! However, I need to admit that the graphics is not perfect (flat textures and lack of detail) and the gameplay is similar on every level, but it's great to engage chases with the Sheriff Rosco P.Coltrane or to make those famous Duke stunts like jumping off ramps!!
Moreover, I started to search on Internet if already exists another recent games devoted to "The Dukes of Hazzard" and I found an incredible mod for the war game "Armed Assault". On this mod, there are a lot of custom cars, included all the vehicles used in the TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard" (General Lee, Cooter's truck, Uncle Jesse's truck, Daisy's Road Runner, Rosco's Police Car, etc.): the details are awesome and after the installation you can do every kind of stunts and a lot of chases with the police cars. So, if you have this game and you want to ride with the General Lee, don't hesitate and install it on your PC!!!

My Travellers... on YouTube!!

Some weeks ago I bought a new video camera to film my holidays on Dolomiti mountains (a Sony Handicam with a 30GB hard disk) so I tryed to join the passion for the video shooting with the passion for the diecast models: the result of this mix is this simple footage (using Pinnacle Studio 12) entitled "Travellers" where I filmed the 2 Traveller I created in the last months. Moreover, to obtain a good result I added the song "Traveler", wrote and produced by Paul Casey for the movie "Collier & Co."
I hope you like it, so... enjoy with this video and have a nice weekend!!!

Another time at the Movieland!!!

During the last weekend I visited for the 2nd time the "Movieland" park in Lazise (VR) with my girlfriend Elisa and her sister Alice. We had a lot of fun and this time I shoot a lot of pictures with the cars and the characters located in the park: so, you could watch us with the General Lee, the Bluesmobile, the DeLorean Time Machine, the robots R2D2 and Number 5, the Jeep from Tomb Raider and a Pontiac Trans Am similar to KITT.
Coming soon, I will post some videos I filmed on the "Magma 2" tour and on the "Rambo" action set.
