A millionaire General Lee!!

In a continuing effort to raise money for his new movie "Collier & Co 2", John Schneider is selling his own replica of the "General Lee". The car is amazing and it has been used for the first time in the reunion movie "Dukes go to Hollywood" (1997). The last year, John has also used this car for his first personal movie "Collier & Co.", calling it "Traveller" and now he want to make a sequel of this wonderful movie. The auction now is about US $9,901,001.00..... an incredible price, for an incredible car!!!!
I hope that the price increase in the next 7 hours, after the ending of the auction, so John could be very happy for his new movie project!

A wrecked old General!

Ok, it's not perfect but it's the first time I try to create a paper model (and watching the result I think that will be the last time!!). I found this model on Internet and using my color laser printer, a good pair of scissors and an hard glue, I realized it in 2 evenings: the resulting "General Lee" seems to be wrecked (especially to the rear), so I decided to imagine that this "General Lee" is the result of a great jump and an hard landing (similar to the jump executed on the pilot episode, when the "General Lee" jump over the police car).
Howerver, in the next days I will try to create a more accurate paper model: now I know some tricks and I can realize a better one!!!
If you want to create a model like this, download the paper model clicking here

A new Charger in my family!

Finally, after 2 weeks, I received the Dodge Charger '68 (used in "Bullit") that I won the 20th April on eBay. When I received the car has the rear shock absorbers not connected at the chassis, but in 5 minutes I corrected the problem with a simple screwdriver. Moreover, I have corrected a problem on the rear lights that are attacched in a wrong way to the body. In the end, I have washed the body with the polish and now it's very very shine!
Only for fun, I have organized a meeting only for my personal Chargers: the new one (1968), the General Lee (1969) and the Fast & Furious stock car (1970), but I think that in the future I will organize a second meeting with more Chargers!!!

Holyday means Diorama

Yesterday, my company was closed for holiday, so after a relaxing swimming in my pool, I found the time (with my girlfriend) to create and shoot 3 simple diorama using my yard. The first diorama is another jump executed by the General Lee over the Rosco's police car: in this case, I have created a lunching ramp with paperboard covered by soil and grass. The second diorama represent a General Lee's escape from the Rosco's police car. Instead, the last diorama try to represent the "Bullit" chase between the Dodge Charger '68 and the Ford Mustang.

The Neverending Story

Source: IMDB.com - Actor John Schneider indicated Wednesday that he intends to take the more conventional route of selling his General Lee car, used in the Dukes of Hazzard TV series, through a reputable automobile auctioneer. His decision came after a buyer of the vehicle, who bid nearly $10 million for it on eBay, appeared to renege on the deal and eBay accused Schneider of not accepting its advice to employ a third party to pre-approve bidders.
In a statement, Schneider said, "When eBay decided to put my auction on their home page, it became their auction." Schneider noted that at one point the bidding had reached $6 million but that eBay had later scaled it back to $2 million. That figure, he said, "must have come from somewhere." Implying that he may take legal action not only against the reneging buyer but also against eBay, Schneider said, "When a multi-billion dollar company takes ownership of an event, in this case an auction, I believe they take responsibility for the outcome."

The Dukes of Hazzard - The Beginning

On March 1, it has been realeased a new DVD movie based on the original TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard" (1979-1985). The new movie's title is "The Dukes of Hazzard - The Beginning": this movie is a prequel to the ridiculous 2005 film "The Dukes of Hazzard" (I agree with Ben Jones when he criticized the 2005 film for its emphasis on sexual content, suggesting that the original series was more family oriented and not as sexualized).
So, only for curiosity (I've wanted to see if this second movie could be worse respect the previous one) I bought a copy of this new DVD, but this time my opinion is not only bad. Ok, it's not the original "Dukes of Hazzard" but this time I think that movie is little better: there a lot of deviations from the earlier version, but I think that it's impossibile to create in 2007 a perfect copy of the original "Dukes of Hazzard".
Finally, if you are curious like me, watch this new movie and enjoy with it... but to appreciate the real Hazzard County essence, take your DVDs with the original TV series and watch the real Bo and Luke Duke!

An idea for a new General Lee!

Watching the two recent movies based on the original TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard", I realize that a lot of things has been changed respect the earlier version (characters, towns, habits, etc.) but only one is equal: the General Lee! Ok, in the first movie, especially in the interior, the production has changed some details, but the substance is always the same: an orange '69 Dodge Charger with "01" number on the doors and a confederate flag on the roof.
So, only for fun, I tryed to imagine how could be a modern version of the General Lee, using a recent car. The first problem was find a car that replace with glory the Dodge Charger: the 2006 Charger is improper for this role, infact today it's not easy to find a very muscle car... However, searching on Internet, I found a modern prototype (created by Dodge) that for me is perfect!!
Unfortunately, it's not a Charger but the remake of another famous '70 muscle car: the Challenger. So, using a good graphical software, I modified the original prototype adding the usual "General Lee" details and now you can see the result. I love this version and I think that in the next month I will try to realize it in 1:18 scale!

A big surprise!

Yesterday, in the afternoon, I received a package from JpusToys, the shop where a month ago I ordered the rare Mustang GT "00" used in "The Dukes of Hazzard" (Reunion Movie). The shop's owner was very neighbourly during the transact business of the "00", so to give thanks to him, I inserted on my site an animated banner that points to his shop site. But, go back to the package... When I opened the package, I found a surprise: a rare General Lee with black interior... that's incredible!!! Two weeks ago, I talked about this rare General Lee with Mr.Tiziano (the shop's owner) and I expressed the desire to buy it, but in the future because in that period I spent too money for other things.
However, Mr.Tiziano sent me this model doing me a great surprise, so I want to thanks him publicly on this site, because it's not easy to find people/sellers like Mr.Tiziano. I will buy other diecast models from JpusToys in the future, and I suggest to all collectors who consult this site, to visit JpusToys site!!!

Find the differences :)

Finally, I extracted from the boxes the last 2 diecast models arrived to my home, the Mustang GT "00" and the General Lee with black interior. However, looking the new General Lee I noticed some differences respect my first General Lee: apart the black interior, the main differences are the license plates. In the rear, there is no the common Georgia's "CNH 320" plate but a Florida plate. Moreover, in the front, there is no the common "confederated flag" plate but the same Florida plate. This Florida plate is "072069" (with a little "10" before the other numbers).
At the end of the evening, I shoot some pictures using my 2 General Lees so, after the 1st Charger Meeting, I organized the 1st General Lee Meeting!!

Roberto's collection

Yesterday, I received an email written by Roberto, an italian guy that has visited my site. Roberto is an American Muscle Cars fan, but also a great "Hazzard" fan. In this years, Roberto has collected a wonderful "Hazzard" collection, composed by 20 diecast models: a great part of this collection is constituted by 18 General Lee, some very rare, some custom and some more common.
If you want to see all the General Lee owned by Roberto and produced by ERTL, click on the following pictures!!
