Dumb & Dumber van: Work in Progress - Step 1

Goodmorning everyone! This is a difficult period, because of the Covid-19 which is changing our way of life, day by day: in my case, luckily, I have been at home for 2 months, I continue to work in smart working, but in the meantime I took advantage of this situation to go back to modifying some models, updating also the site itself. The project I started a few weeks ago had been in the pipeline for a long time, but I had never found the time nor the desire to carry it out: it is the van used in the film "Dumb and Dumber". Today I can finally show you, starting from the first changes to the basic model (a 1983 GMC Vandura produced by Greenlight Toys) up to the finished model in the coming weeks. In addition to the rest, I have already queued many other new models, but we will talk about this later. Today enjoy the images of this van to which I had to remove the wheel arches with the Dremel and I had to start creating with the pasticard the new longer front that will house the dog's muzzle. Have fun and see you soon with other news related to this new model!

Dumb & Dumber van: Work in Progress - Step 2

I'm back here today for the second part of this new work in progress dedicated to the van used in the film "Dumb and Bumber". After showing you in the previous post how I removed the side wheel arches and the application of the new templates to make the front, today I will show you the application of the new front made with plasticard and then the coating of the muzzle and the doors. Of course, having opened the model, I took the opportunity to coat the dashboard and seats with fur. Ah, to simulate the fur I used an old sweater made of fleece branded Fila. Now enjoy the pictures and have a nice weekend!

Dumb & Dumber van: Work in Progress - Step 3

The changes to the van used in "Dumb and Dumber" proceed quite quickly: I have finally completed the covering of the entire bodywork (sides and rear). From the following photos you can see how the model now looks, both externally and internally. Within the end of this week I will update you with new photos related to the roof and the external details (legs, ears, etc.). Now enjoy the pictures. Have a nice day!

Dumb & Dumber van: Work in Progress - Step 4

As promised here I am with a new episode dedicated to the van used in "Dumb and Dumber". Today I will show you updates that naturally include the roof lining and the construction of the legs and ears. These parts were built with plasticard, making flat shapes and then applying vertical edges to give a thickness. Then I filled the various parts with the contents of an old cushion and covered everything with fleece fur. In this way, both the legs and the ears kept the right shape but remained very soft to the touch. To conclude, on the roof I have prepared a coupling system to easily attach and detach the tail (which, however, I will show you next week). Now enjoy the pictures and spend a nice weekend!

Dumb & Dumber van: Work in Progress - Step 5

We are almost at the end of the work in progress of the "Dumb & Dumber" van: today I will show you the creation of the tail (sewn by my wife, if I have to be honest), the nose and some other details related to the side legs. By the end of next week, I will post the final images of the van completed with other details (the tongue, the side signs, the licence plate, etc.) Stay tuned then and enjoy the new image gallery!

Dumb & Dumber van: Work in Progress - Step 6

And here we are finally with the last episode dedicated to the creation of the van used in the movie "Dumb and Dumber". In this series of new images I will show you how I completed the model by adding the legs on the rear doors, the tongue (created as the nose with the DAS and then painted with the spray can), the front lights and the wheels (from an old damaged Dodge Challenger) and decorative elements, including the license plate, the side signs and the freckles on the front of the van.
Finally, after a long time that I wanted to make it, I managed to complete this very particular model that will now embellish my diecast car collection. Now enjoy the new pictures with the latest changes and don't worry, from next week I will show you other models that I am modifing during this period of lockdown. Have fun and spend a good weekend!
