The Man, The Machine... Street Hawk!

After years and years of waiting, finally Motor Max has decided to produce this awesome 1:18 scale model of the legendary "Street Hawk". The model has an incredible level of detail: the hull shapes are perfect, the color is right, the wheels and tires are identical to the original one. The model will be on sale from June of this year at a price expected to be around 50 dollars. Needless to say, all of them worth!

April Fool

Maybe someone believed it, maybe someone has understood that it was a joke, since yesterday was April 1st ... in fact, the news that I gave yesterday on the bike in 1:18 scale of Street Hawk was a hoax. However, this model does exist and has been handcrafted by the user "mach77" of the forum "Street Hawk". Admittedly it is the best model ever created in 1:18 scale of the motorcycle used in the 80s TV series and it would be really nice if some diecast manufacturer decide to offer it on the market ... surely many fans like me would try in every way to buy one! I leave you with photos of all the construction phases of this model ... and if you can, forgive me the joke!

Fast & Furious 7 - My personal review

As car enthusiast, yesterday I went to see the latest chapter of the "Fast & Furious" saga. As I have said many times, I have never liked the turn that has taken this series: I loved to madness (even today) the first movie, where the real stars were the cars and simple guys who love cars. However, from the fourth movie forward, the saga has taken a turn too focused on international intrigue, shootings and fisticuffs. Cars are just an excuse to combine all of these elements within the various movies. Same thing is for the latter film, there are a lot of cars (and they are destroyed in accidents or explosions quite exciting for the viewer), but lead the way are the shootings and fights with fists between Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham ... So, now lead the way are the muscles and steroids and no longer supercharged engines and NOS, not to mention that now the laws of physics have been distorted in favor of the show. The only positive thing, of course, is the conclusion of the movies: I'll not tell you nothing (I don't want to spoiler), but it is a wonderful tribute to Paul Walker, because of his sudden death during the filming of this latest film. In short, if you are fans of the genre and of this saga not miss to go to see this movies because movies like this make a lot on the big screen ... otherwise, if you appreciate cars and the (real) world revolves around us, put on your DVD / Bluray first movie of this saga and enjoy a truly fabulous movie that still has much to say and gets old really well!

RIP James Best

Unfortunately, at age 88, passed away James Best, the legendary Sheriff Rosco P.Coltrane in the TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard." He Will be missed by all fans of the series for his incredible sympathy that still makes us smile!
   Rest in Peace James!

New purchases of April

These days I made some new purchase: some of these models are in the truck of some carrier, but I`ll try to add a lot of pics when they will come in my miniature garage (I need to update a lot of new diecast models, but in the meantime I will publish some updated pics of my showcases)! In this order, I have included some models old and new that I had not yet added to my collection, but the rest was just a matter of time! In detail, I bought the 1955 Chevy Hot Road of "Two Lane Blacktop", the 1995 black Honda Civic from the first "The Fast & The Furious", the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII and the Mitsubishi Eclipse from "2 Fast 2 Furious", the 2001 Ford Crown Victoria used by the NYPD in "Third Watch" and the 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS from "Jack Reacher" and "The Fast & The Furious". But do you know me... purchases do not stop there ... soon with other arrivals!

Italian Job - Blue Mini - Episode 1

Yesterday I started to work on the first of three Minis used in the original movie "Italian Job". To do that I bought an Aston Mini Cooper produced by Solido: the original color was green but it will be painted with a light blue. As you can see from the pics below, I started to take it apart and I covered all the body with the paint stripper. During the weekend I will finish the body with the sandpaper and then I will repaint it with the right color. Stay tuned!

Italian Job - Blue Mini - Episode 2

As anticipated last week, Sunday I worked on the blue Mini. After removing the last remnants of paint, I proceeded to give two coats of blue paint. From the photos the color looks lighter than it really is: once completed I will try to make better pictures in optimal conditions, so as to do justice to this colour. This evening I should start to assemble it again: in the next few days I will publish more pictures, stay tuned!

New purchases of March

Looking the latest news on this website, I realized that I had shown you my purchases in February and April, but I forgot to publish purchases made in March. It's never too late! As you can see from the pictures, I bought the Lancia Delta HF produced by Sunstar (used in the movie "Alta Velocità"), the Batmobile produced by HotWheels (used in the movie "Batman Forever"), the Ferrari 312 T2 produced by HotWheels (used in the movie "Rush") and the Cadillac Eldorado produced by Jada (used in the movie "Scarface"). The most observant will have noticed that this last diecast model is already in my collection from a long time. The reason is obvious: this Cadillac will be completely stripped and repainted to become the Cadillac Eldorado used by Philip Michael Thomas in "Miami Vice", so I will have completed all cars of this wonderful TV series. The conversion will not be difficult: the most complicated part will be to remove that horrible saddlery tiger! Soon... on these screens!

News about the Black Beauty

Before the weekend a little update on the Black Beauty, the car used in the TV series "The Green Hornet". The diecast model, as I told you a few months ago, will be produced by AutoArt, so the quality will be as always superb! It will be due out in the second quarter of this year, so we keep your eyes fixed on eBay in the next 3 months! Enjoy the photos with the openings and special features of this car!

Street Hawk - Vintage Toys

In these two days, I made two purchases a little bit strange... They are not detailed diecast models, but vintage toys built during the 80s. At the beginning of April, in fact, I shown you an amazing handmade model created by an English boy about the bike used in "Street Hawk". Well, after this, I decided to create a new model of this bike but starting from a base that already exists, that is, the model produced by LJN in 1984. My idea is to use the existing part of the body (caulking parts to correct defects of plastic) but using also the frame and the wheels from an Honda XR 400r produced by Maisto. It will not be an easy job, but I still want to try to create something as similar as possible to the original bike. Why I bought two? The one without the package, as I have explained above, will be modified, plasted and repainted. That one contained in the package will left as is, it will be exposed unchanged: considering the "MIB" state of conservation, after all these years, would be a shame modify it!

Italian Job - Blue Mini - Episode 3

Although a few days late, I started to reassemble the blue Mini. Very little is missing to complete it: I have to prepare the license plates, creating the black belts to be applied on the hood (I think to realize them with black electrical tape) and find additional headlights to be applied on the front. I tried searching on the eBay but I found very little and only for smaller scale models ... I hope to find as soon as possible a solution because I would like to complete this Mini (and also the other two!).

Third Watch DVDs & Ford Crown Victoria

Last week I quickly showed you some of my recent purchases: today I want to show you the Ford Crown Victoria NYPD used in the TV series "Third Watch". The feature of this model, produced by Greenlight, is to have the ability to activate by a switch the lights and sirens. Here is a short video where I show this feature.

Moreover, how could I introduce such diecast model in the best way? Of course, with the original DVDs of the series. Unfortunately, in this case, were produced only the first two seasons and have never been produced other 4. Fortunately you can still find all the other episodes on Torrent or on the digital terrestrial channel "Giallo".

Italian Job - White Mini - Episode 1

While waiting to receive the correct straps and additional fog lamps for the blue Mini (but also for the other two Minis) I started working on another Mini to make it the white Mini. I must admit that working on these models is very pleasant: come apart easily, the paint comes off with impressive speed and both the painting that the reassembling guarantee excellent results in a short time. Today I show you the work of dismantling and stripping the body, and tomorrow I will show you photos of the Mini repainted. So... stay on these pages because getting it!

Italian Job - White Mini - Episode 2

The second Mini has finally been painted: here are some pictures during the painting process and during the assembly process of the entire model. As you noticed were also already applied the correct license plate (in the case of the white Mini is "GPF 146G"). Tomorrow will come instead photos of the red Mini, where the paint job was much faster, since I had to do only the roof. Then, in the next few days I will show you the work on the 3 Minis to apply the black straps on the hoods and the front additional headlights.

Italian Job - White Mini - Episode 3

Small updates today for the white Mini: I added straps on the hood with electrical tape (waiting to receive the correct ones from Tremonia) and I did the same thing on the blue Mini. I took the opportunity then to organize a little meeting between the white and the blue Mini, waiting for other changes relative to the headlights. While I was there I also approached the red Mini that will end soon in the paint shop!

Italian Job - Red Mini - Episode 1

Yesterday I painted the roof of the third Mini, the red one. The body of this car was already red, so I only removed the roof and painted it with the right shade of red. Since in this case the work was very limited, I started to create the brackets to support the additional headlights. Initially I tried to do it by hand, but since the result does not satisfy me, I created a template with a plank of wood, nails and a drawing made on paper. In this way I managed to create with the wire three brackets perfectly identical. I then applied them to the 3 Mini to see if the proportions were loyal and I'm really satisfied with the result. In the coming days, as soon as I receive the additional headlights from France, I will paint them with the chrome paint, I will apply them on the brackets and then I will add the protective nets in front of each headlight. As usual, I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the group of 3 Mini. Enjoy with them!
